Starting a business: what assistance can you receive?

The november 04, 2022

The creation of a company is an important step in the beginning of your activity. Numerous fiscal, financial and technical aids can be granted to you in order to facilitate this creation:

Technical assistance

      NACRE

This aid allows you to be accompanied for 3 years, from the setting up of your project to the start of your activity. The accompaniment can be as well an advice as an accompaniment in the search of financing (= loan at zero rate).

Please note: since January 1, 2017, this assistance falls under the jurisdiction of the regions. Concretely, its composition can vary from one region to another.

       Cape

The support contract for the business project allows you to be supported and accompanied by an existing company or association. The company can provide technical, material or financial assistance.

It should be noted that the Cape is a written contract for a period of one year that can be renewed twice.

The financial aid

         ARE

It is entirely possible to maintain your return to work allowance while you are setting up your business.

        ARCE

Jobseekers eligible for the ARE who wish to create their own business can benefit from the payment of a capital sum of 45% of the ARE rights remaining to be paid after deduction of 3% for the financing of complementary pensions. In concrete terms, this assistance transforms your unemployment benefit into a capital sum.

ARCE takes the form of two payments: the first once you have validated all the conditions and the second 6 months after the creation of your company.

In reality, this aid is less interesting than the payment of your entire ARE, however, when the creator of a business needs a starting cash flow in order to start his or her activity, this aid can be relevant.

Fiscal aid

            ACRE

People wishing to create their company and being eligible for the ACRE can benefit from a reduction in their social charges. The reduction of social charges can be partial or total depending on the income of the creator of the company.

            JEI or young innovative company

This allows to benefit from tax breaks for new companies with R&D expenses. This status allows the company to benefit from a 100% tax exemption on profits during the first financial year. The second year, the exemption will be 50%.
